After 39 long years of debauchery and Rock N' Roll fun, The Rocky Horror Show – the original cult classic musical – finally makes its debut at the Chapel Street Playhouse. The Rocky Horror Show is the timeless story of what happens when two seemingly innocent, straight laced kids get their worlds rocked and turned upside down by a deranged mad scientist/sexual deviant transvestite from the Planet Transexual in the galaxy of Transylvania! Featuring hit songs such as "The Time Warp," "Sweet Transvestite" and "Hot Patootie," expect Rocky to the biggest party of the summer. Audience participation is highly encouraged. Due to content and language, Rocky is not recommended for children under 13 years of age.
"Chapel Street hasn't done a show like this in quite some time," says director Andrew John Mitchell. "We used to do slamming door sex comedies all the time, and now we're bringing it back – but this time, with transvestites." The show will also mark a special occasion in the director's life as he's set to marry his fiancée – who is also the show's choreographer – on closing night of the show. "We met at Chapel Street, we got engaged at Chapel Street, it only makes sense to get married at Chapel Street, as well."
The Rocky Horror Show stars Michael Parillo as Frank N' Furter and features Caitlin E. Adams, Justin Walsh, Thomas Russell, Lucy Marie Smith, Laura Dunbar, Brett Pearson, Dennis Conner, Suzanne Stein, A.J. LoPorto and Renee O'Leary as Dr. Scott. Rocky Horror marks Renee O'Leary's 49th consecutive Chapel Street FUNdraiser appearance.
The Rocky Horror Show, Music, Lyrics and Book by Richard O'Brien, directed by Andrew John Mitchell, musical direction by Kathy Cammett and choreography and assistant direction by Suzanne Stein.
